These wall quilts combine the techniques of sewing traditional triangle designs into larger triangle blocks and adding modern animal graphics fabric images in a contemporary art application. In this art piece I used a nice velvet along with all the gorgeous cotton fabrics and that adds a really nice textural element to the wall hanging.

I used to love Laurel Burch's jewelry designs and recently she has begun designing fabrics with birds and animal motifs. I was really happy to find these fabrics in cotton because I love her colors which are bright and bold. So I decided to use some of her Giraffes fabric in this contemporary art quilt and the result is "Aren't We Gorgeous"?

This fused and machine embroidered wall quilt tapestry was inspired by the many cave paintings found in France. The horse fabric as well as the rock fabrics are commercial cottons and batiks with lots of depth and interest in the design.
