My latest adventure is painting my own fabric designs, doing fabric painting with acrylics and special metallic paints. All fabrics are heat set after they dry so nothing will happen to the colors or the fabrics.

These fabric art panels can be stretched over simple wooden frames or framed simply to show off the strong graphic designs and patterns. I see these hanging in a very modern decor, home or office, for those who really love abstract designs.

They can also become the background for a wholecloth art quilt for any quilter who want to venture out into new territories. I add beads, specialty yarns, ribbons and trinkets, along with decorative machine embroidery stitching, either free form or a programmed stitch. You could even cut up the fabric panels and insert photo transfers in between to really create a unique art quilt for the wall.

Each panel is completely original so they are actually pieces of art in their own right. This is a very inexpensive way to achieve a totally artistic and unique home decor environment! Someone commented that "you are the new Finnish Marimekko designer"!!! How I would love to be a Marimekko fabric designer!

"Unopened Ferns" 16" x 24"

This is a lovely soft green panel with blue splotches reminiscent of fern leaves as they begin to open and unfurl. I used very wet green paint, let it sit for just a short while, then added dabs of blue which then spread into these lovely shapes. It would make a lovely wholecloth embroidered and embellished wall hanging.

"Northern Lights" 34" x 23

Those of you who have lived in the Northern Hemisphere may have experienced the wonderful display of the northern lights. The atmospheric conditions have to be just right for the luminescent and beautiful color play to take place. Once you see this fascinating glow and flow across the skies you never forget it!
