I really like the way this piano art quilt came out. I had a commission for a piano textile and had some leftover music-themed fabrics, so I made another wall hanging. It’s heavily embellished with ribbons, beads and hand-embroidery. The colors are striking, and the quilt became very graphic thanks to the strong designs of the fabrics. The shape was a little tricky to work with, especially the edging. By cutting the edging fabric on the bias I was able to stretch it out to suit the rounded shapes. I would think that this piece would make a wonderful gift for anyone who plays the piano. Don’t you?
